Fashion Cake

 

Ingredients

  • 1 x 20cm (8inch) filled Victoria Sandwich Cake
    Dr. Oetker 25cm (10 inch) round silver cake board
    Dr. Oetker Easy Ice
    Approx. 675g (1 ½ lb) Dr. Oetker Ready roll Icing
    Dr. Oetker Pink, Blue, Yellow, Green Food Colouring
    Dr. Oetker Writing Icing
    Dr. Oetker Birthday Candles

Method

  1. Place the cake on the board and spread thinly all over with Easy Ice. Roll out 250g (9oz) of the ready roll icing on a surface lightly dusted with icing sugar to cover the cake completely. Smooth down over the cake and trim as necessary.
  2. Divide the remaining icing into 4 equal portions and colour each lightly with a different food colouring. Roll out a small piece of each colour thinly and cut out small dresses, hand bags, shoes and hats. Secure round the side of the cake with a little water.
  3. Form the trimmings and remaining icing into different sized and shaped blocks to resemble shopping bags, parcels and boxes. Arrange on top of the cake.
  4. Decorate the cut out shapes and shopping parcels using writing icing. Finally, push candles into their holders and arrange in between the parcels on top of the cake to serve.
