Cook up some 'Back to School' fun with a little help from SuperCook
The new school year is upon us and SuperCook has come up with a tantalising new recipe idea, perfect for the kids' lunchboxes and guaranteed to send them to school with a smile on their face!
Try this quick and easy recipe with your little monsters...
Chewy Muesli Bars
| 100g (4oz) |
unsalted butter |
| 100g (4oz) |
light brown sugar |
| 75g (3oz) |
golden syrup |
| 250g (9oz) |
sugar free muesli |
| Pinch of salt |
| 2.5ml (1/2 tsp) |
SuperCook Natural Vanilla Extract |
| 200g |
Sachet SuperCook EasyChoc Covering or SuperCook Scotbloc Chocolate Flavour Covering |

- Preheat the oven to 180ºC/ 350ºF/ Gas 4. Grease and line a 18cm (7 inch) cake tin.
- Place the sugar, butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until melted together.
- Remove from the heat and mix in the muesli, salt and vanilla extract. Press into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling. Leave to cool for 5 minutes until firm and then cut into 12 bars. Leave to cool completely.
- Transfer the muesli bars to a wire rack. Melt the EasyChoc or Scotbloc according to the pack instructions. Pour the melted covering over each muesli bar. Sprinkle with a few Chocolate Strands and set aside in a cool place to firm up before serving.
