Cook up some 'Back to School' fun with a little help from SuperCook

The new school year is upon us and SuperCook has come up with a tantalising new recipe idea, perfect for the kids' lunchboxes and guaranteed to send them to school with a smile on their face!

Try this quick and easy recipe with your little monsters...

Chewy Muesli Bars

100g (4oz) unsalted butter
100g (4oz) light brown sugar
75g (3oz) golden syrup
250g (9oz) sugar free muesli
Pinch of salt
2.5ml (1/2 tsp) SuperCook Natural Vanilla Extract
200g Sachet SuperCook EasyChoc Covering or SuperCook Scotbloc Chocolate Flavour Covering
  SuperCook Chocolate Strands
  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC/ 350ºF/ Gas 4. Grease and line a 18cm (7 inch) cake tin.
  2. Place the sugar, butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until melted together.
  3. Remove from the heat and mix in the muesli, salt and vanilla extract. Press into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling. Leave to cool for 5 minutes until firm and then cut into 12 bars. Leave to cool completely.
  4. Transfer the muesli bars to a wire rack. Melt the EasyChoc or Scotbloc according to the pack instructions. Pour the melted covering over each muesli bar. Sprinkle with a few Chocolate Strands and set aside in a cool place to firm up before serving.
